“An African proverb says ‘The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now’.
This year I have had the great honour to be involved with Lawyers Against Abuse (LvA). In just over a year they have taken on 45 cases and held over 17 training sessions to mobilise government systems to support victims of gender related violence.
LvA planted the seed in 2011 and it is well on its way to becoming a strong African tree.
Hurting women and children is brutal and stupid. Let us all join LvA and its partner organisations in spreading the word during the 16 days of activism.”
